The Holga owns a place in my heart and in my camera bag. Sometimes I try not to pack her. I fail 9 out of 10 times. Just before leaving the house I get anxious and eventually I give in, throwing the Holga and more film into my bag and off we go. In October I took the Holga to London. This time my decision was not spontaneous at all but planned well in advance.
Europe
I used to live in Vienna for several years and I love coming back to my old hometown. This year I’ve been in Vienna pretty often. Sometimes for work, sometimes just for fun but every time I got a camera with me. In July my companion was the Nikon FE. I got this gem after I realised that I can’t use my Lensbaby lenses with my Nikon F80. Well, I could use them but only if I meter externally. Besides, the Nikon FE is a classic and every woman should have a little black one.
With a lot of black and white film and two cameras I went to the Vienna Central Cemetery back in April. Aside from the Holga 120 I brought my Nikon F80 and a 50mm lens.
Some snapshots from a weekend in Vienna. I orginally wanted to go to the Central Cemetery in Vienna but couldn’t make it. Instead I randomly walked around the city, just taking snapshots.
In the first week of October we finally made it to Barcelona. I took my Nikon F80 and several rolls of film with me. It was my first time using Ilford FP4 – thanks for motivating me #FP4Party!
And again: 5 pictures from the last two weeks. We spent a few days in Barcelona, soaking up a little bit of sun and stuffing our faces with Tapas. I packed one digital and one analog camera for the trip plus a few rolls of film. I only shot three of them – but haven’t developed the films yet.
Back in June we went to Vienna for the Black Sabbath concert. For the day after, I packed my Nikon L35AF. At the moment it’s the only point and shoot camera I use: I sold my broken Petri Color 35 and don’t use the Olympus Go 100 anymore. After a great farewell-concert, a few beers and some good sleep, the next morning we headed out to the first district, the heart of Vienna, for breakfast and a stroll. A classic sightseeing tour I hardly ever did when I lived in Vienna.
