With the beginning of a new year I usually don’t make resolutions for the next 365 days. To me that doesn’t make sense. But there is one thing I always do and that’s making plans and thinking about projects and new ideas. A few things crossed my mind but finally I sorted out which project I want to realize in 2017.
Some weeks ago I decluttered my workspace and rearranged all my cameras in the drawer. In the end I counted 30 cameras. What started with a very old Box Tengor from Ebay grew into a small collection of old and not so old film cameras. I still consider my pile of cameras small, but: I couldn’t help noticing that I rarely use all of my equipment. When thinking about a project that I could do over the span of a year, I quickly remembered one that I found online some time ago: 12 Months 12 Cameras.
2017: 12 Months – 12 Cameras
A self-explenatory project: Each month I’ll shoot at least one roll of film (or one package of Polaroid film) with one of my film cameras. I have different kinds of cameras for 135 film, rangefinder cameras, one SLR, medium format cameras, plastic cameras, pinholes, point and shoots – it will be really hard to pick 12. I’m not quite sure which ones I want to use but ‚ll make up my mind while I start with the first month and the first camera. In January, I will shoot with my rangefinder camera Voigtländer Vitoret LR. Can’t even remember when I used this gem the last time.
